Mark Mortland-Owner PT, AT
Mark Mortland, as the owner of Mortland Physical Therapy, has been successfully treating orthopedic conditions for over 30 years. During his 16-year tenure as Head Trainer and Physical Therapist for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins from 1993-2009, Mark had the opportunity to work with, and successfully rehabilitate, world-class professional athletes and Olympians such as Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby. Mark led the training staff during the brutal playoff run in 2009 when the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup.
Mark is a graduate of Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He received his Physical Therapy degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Mark is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Prior to joining the Penguins as their full-time athletic trainer and physical therapist, Mark spent 12 years in the clinical healthcare setting, providing a full spectrum of athletic healthcare and rehabilitation services. His successful entrepreneurship, led to owning and operating eight Pittsburgh area physical therapy clinics, which he sold in 1997. His ongoing commitment to health, his patients, the community, his children and his profession is demonstrated in his focus and long tenure with the field of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.
